1. THE DATA WE COLLECT
We collect and process personal data to provide plumbing and heating services. This includes:
Identity Data: Name, title.
Contact Data: Billing address, job address, email address, and telephone numbers.
Property Data: Boiler make/model, gas meter location, and service history.
Financial Data: Payment details (processed securely via PayPal POS/Mettle).
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA (Lawful Basis)
We only use your data when the law allows us to. For a gas engineer, these are:
Performance of a Contract: To provide the quote you requested and carry out the work.
Legal Obligation: To issue Gas Safety Records (CP12) and maintain records for the Gas Safe Register and HSE.
Legitimate Interests: To send you annual service reminders to ensure your appliance remains safe and your warranty remains valid.
3. DATA SHARING
We do not sell your data. We only share it with trusted partners necessary for business operations:
Regulatory Bodies: Gas Safe Register (for building control notifications).
Service Providers: Mettle (banking), FreeAgent (accounting), and Google Workspace (email).
Payment Provider: PayPal (for card payments via POS reader)
Insurance: If required for a claim or audit by our PLI provider.
4. DATA RETENTION
HMRC Records: We keep financial records for 6 years as required by tax law.
Gas Safety Records: Under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, records must be kept for at least 2 years, but we retain them for 10 years to provide a consistent service history for your property.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Request access to your data (Subject Access Request).
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request erasure of your data (unless we have a legal obligation to keep it, e.g., for Gas Safety).
